Birth Doula
A doula is a Greek word that means, "a woman who serves." I am a certified birth doula through DONA (dona.org-certification board), practicing for ten years in the Chicago land area. Through my own powerful and positive birthing experience in London, England was the catalyst to becoming a birth doula. Upon returning to the States on 9/11/2001 it was apparent that there was a gap in how moms in the US were given information, and how information was disseminated in the UK. It was due to this gap that I felt drawn to become a certified birth doula to support and educate women.
